Some free POP3 Accounts



1. GMail

GMail offers POP/SMTP access to its email. Here are the settings:

POP server: pop.gmail.com.
Port: 995.
Require SSL: Yes.
User name: your Gmail email address.
Make sure your user name includes both your Gmail account name and "@gmail.com". If your Gmail account name is "aneesh.attingal", for example, type "aneesh.attingal@gmail.com" as the user name.
Password: your Gmail password.

SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com.
Port: 465.
Require SSL/STARTTLS: Yes.
Require SMTP authentication: Yes.
User name: your Gmail email address.
Password: your Gmail password.

2.GMX
http://www.gmx.co.uk

GMX is a very good and RELIABLE email provider. Since GMX is the biggest provider of free email in Germany it is for sure here to stay. Note: Unfortunately GMX discontinued their English language service lately. They now only maintain the German user interface.  Tip: You can use a free Online translation services or a dictionary for help with the German sign-up form. We think that GMX is so good, it is worth the sign-up trouble!

Recent change: Their signup forms do not allow American postal addresses anymore, but accept any valid address from Germany, Austria or Switzerland that you find on the web. Once you entered a German postal address you can use the account from anywhere in the world.

3.BlueBottle

Bluebottle offers Webmail / POP3 / SMTP Access with 250MB storage and a huge 10 MB maximum attachments size.

4.HotPoP
http://www.HotPOP.com

Easy setup and works ok - and that is more than you can expect with most free email services. Note that the free account has a 500 KB size limit for email messages.
